Hot Spot Yoga: Guru or Not, You’ll Love Yoga Here

What makes for good a good yoga session? In my experience, it largely comes down to environment and instructors. Fellow students can have an impact too, of course. Over the years, I’ve been to a number of yoga classes, some good, some bad, some great. Hot Spot Yoga falls into the last category. Fantastic instructors and awesome studios make Hot Spot a hot spot for Yoga in Brooklyn.

When I start frequenting a yoga studio, I often find there are one or two instructors which are in higher demand than the others. Sometimes that leads to overcrowded classes, which can be frustrating to line up your schedule around theirs.

That’s not the case at Hot Spot Yoga (28 Dooley St, Fl 4th Brooklyn, New York), it’s refreshing to know that every instructor has their own unique and awesome qualities. Each of them is great. If I were asked to describe all of the instructors with one word, I’d say “compassionate.”  Yes, each has their own style, approach, and smile, but they have all been patient with their students, me included. 🙏

At Hot Spot Yoga, the instructors truly care how your practice is developing, how you’re feeling, and the impact it’s having on your life. After all, yoga isn’t just about the physical. The yoga practice is such a bonding experience, and each instructor I’ve had the pleasure of practicing with at Hot Spot, have shown compassion, understanding, and been very encouraging.

The studios are well appointed and comfortable. The studios were also very clean and didn’t have that smelly-sock gym rat smell I encounter from time to time. I admit, my nose can be a bit hyperactive, so the fresh, clean scents definitely make a difference.

Hot Spot Yoga also has some great views! I know, some people prefer inward focused yoga. It shouldn’t matter where you are, but instead what you’re doing, right? This is a fair view, and a view shared by some of my friends. Me? I like to let my eyes wander.

Birds of a feather flock together, as well. I’ve found the other students to be friendly, helpful, but not obtrusive. Everyone is there to get their yoga on, which helps to make the whole experience more enjoyable.

Anyways, if you’re looking for a good yoga place around Emmons Avenue, you should definitely try out a class at Hot Spot Yoga. No appointments needed, so you can drop by when you feel like it.  10/10, will be yoga’ing at Hot Spot Yoga again.
